In Monopoly Tycoon, players still compete to try and bankrupt each other. The exception is the turn-based board game is lost. Instead, the game is played like Rollercoaster Tycoon. Building new businesses and trying to collect rent from them. Or if you are a solo-player, a challenge mode against the computer is available.
This copy of Monopoly Tycoon was distributed for free in copies of The Times.
This game has one extra level compared to the original release. The goal of the ‘Times’ level is to be the first player to achieve 500 sales.
Players who complete this level will be given a code, which allows a free entry into a prize draw for a two-week all-inclusive holiday aboard a Silversea ultra-luxury cruise liner. Worth over £20,000.
Released in advance of the Monopoly Championship held in 2009
All the tokens have been given a new gold colour, the traditional eight, in addition to the candidates for introduction.
In a poll held in 2013, members of the public were given the task to choose their favourite token from the standard selection and from the new five (a ring, a robot, a cat, a guitar and a helicopter). The loser in the first ballot was the iron, which was soon replaced by the cat. A similar contest was held again in early 2017.

In 2017, Hasbro held an online poll to decide which 8 tokens should be included in a standard set of Monopoly. In this poll, 64 tokens were offered – the original 8 and 56 newly designed tokens. This edition provides all 64 tokens that were offered in the poll – in addition to a very Deluxe style inside with a new board, money, houses etc.
Ultimately, the T-Rex, Penguin and Rubber Duck were voted in, with the Thimble, Boot and Wheelbarrow retired from the game. This edition was never released in the UK.

SpongeBob Monopoly contains optional bonus rules which can be used when a shorter game is preferred.
A ‘Plankton’ token is placed on the first property. Then, every time a 1 is rolled, the token is advanced by one space. The game ends when that token has looped around to the last property.
If a player lands on a property occupied by Plankton, then the player may take it for free, or, if already owned, must pay twice the normal rent.
Once the token has completed a circuit, the players add up the value of their assets and the most money wins!
Every colour group has a ‘Hood’ space. At the start of the game, the Evil Hood token is placed on any one of these spaces.
The token moves from one colour group to another whenever a player rolls a double.
If you land on a property occupied by the ‘Evil Hood’ then you must pay the bank a £200 fine.
In addition, rent cannot be claimed on properties occupied by the ‘Evil Hood’.
Doubles don’t count when rolling to determine rent for a utility, or when attempting to get out of jail free.
Tokens are gold coloured. As well as the tradition set of 10, a Money Bag (USA) and Train (Nostalgia) tokens are also included

Three editions were made by Cartamundi in 2017 – the last year of their production of Monopoly Deal. These editions include: London, Paris and Berlin. I have never seen a Paris or Berlin edition for sale. However, this collection includes Monopoly Deal London – which appeared to be an Amazon exclusive.
Grab & Go is the current release of Hasbro travel games – including Monopoly.

Scandinavia is designed for Sweden/Finland/Denmark/Norway/Iceland and uses the traditional British board
Otherwise the game is a reduced sized version of the regular gameboard.
